Raffle Winner: Jason R. of Sitka, AK!

Our inaugural 50/50 raffle supporting our members and their families through our Good & Welfare / Dennis J. Moen Scholarship fund, has a winner: our very own member, Jason R. of Sitka, AK!

Local 71 Business Manager, Bill Meers, said, “It’s just so wonderful that one of our own members is the winner of this thing, now I’m excited to keep it going!”

Our Good & Welfare / Dennis J. Moen Scholarship fund is the charitable arm of our organization. Through donations from our Charitable Gaming Operator, Retired Member, Dave Lambert at Emerald Isle Pulltabs, we have supported our members and their families with over $150K since we initiated our Charitable Gaming program in 2018.

Now we are supplementing those funds with our own efforts, as every penny counts when it’s put towards our members! We exceeded our expectations earning a pot of $4,070.00 for our first raffle. Our plan is to do a quarterly 50/50 raffle every three months, and build to the largest pot possible.

Together We Rise: Thank you to everyone who supported our raffle to lift up our members and their families. If you didn’t get drawn this time, you’re still a winner in our book! Everyone who bought tickets, promoted, or shared our news helped the hard working members of Public Employees Local 71. We’ll let you know when our next raffle is live, and again; THANK YOU for your support of our members and their families!
